Marketing Specialist

The Fabric Shop Network, Inc. is the trade association for independent in the fabric, quilting & yarn/fiber industry. As an organization, we provide comprehensive resources and services to help educate, empower, connect, and support our members worldwide.

We’re a small, family-owned business looking for a skilled team member who appreciates a comfortable and collaborative work environment with flexible work arrangements. We are small, but growing and evolving along with industry changes.

We are seeking a full-time Marketing Specialist to join our team. The position requires a balance of marketing skills, technical skills and project management. Because we have a passion for guiding our members (clients) to be great, profitable business owners, we’re looking for a fun, productive team member who loves to help make others successful!!

The ideal candidate for our Marketing Specialist position must be timeline driven, have an eye for design, along with strong attention to detail. You must be quick to adapt to new technologies, tools and systems. The position generally requires involvement through initial planning, ideation and asset creation, to the final delivery of materials. The Marketing Specialist must collaborate with team members, and liaise with sponsors, vendors & members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish project timelines, milestones and ultimately oversee the entire life cycle of marketing projects.
  • Communicate with external collaborators, such as sponsors/vendors and their end clients.
  • Proofread all materials to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Manage & maintain our social media strategy, to increase our presence and grow our engagement initiatives.
  • Manage giveaways and product partner collaboration processes.
  • Create and post engaging content across social media platforms.
  • Update & manage WordPress, Shopify, and HTML websites, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and consistency.
  • Track and analyze performance using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and other tool-based analytics.
  • Recommend adjustments based on performance insights to improve engagement and effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and Google Analytics 4 reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of current marketing best practices, such as digital marketing principles and social media strategies.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills along with a demonstrated understanding of visual design principles such as layout, typography, and color.
  • Proficiency with WordPress & Shopify, including building and updating pages, formatting content, and optimizing for accessibility and performance.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
  • Experience with CRMs particularly HubSpot and email platforms (ex: Constant Contact, Sender, SendGrid) and other communication technologies.
  • Ability to incorporate search engine optimization (SEO) strategy into digital marketing efforts.
  • Familiarity with InDesign and Illustrator.

Must Haves:

  • Ability to create print, video & electronic marketing items.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to ensure all deliverables meet quality standards in a timely manner.
  • Strong understanding of customer service, client relations and the benefits of collaboration.
  • Expertise with project management processes, such as planning, executing and monitoring project strategies.
  • Self-starter, who can effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Adaptability, creative thinking and problem solving are a must for our small, but growing company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field.
  • Three to five years of professional experience in marketing, project management, or communications.
  • This is a full-time, salaried position, working regular business hours, Monday through Friday with periodic hybrid/remote flexibility.

  • Annual salary of $50,000-$60,000 depending on experience.
  • While we don’t currently offer fully paid medical & dental insurance, we are happy to over half of your an insurance plan of your choice.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
