Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing strategies that promote the company's residential and business services, strengthen brand awareness, support subscriber growth, and enhance community engagement. This position will create and execute both digital and traditional marketing campaigns while analyzing results and optimizing performance to meet company objectives.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative, organized, and passionate about rural broadband and community-focused marketing. They possess strong communication skills and a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering measurable results.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy & Campaign Management

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans supporting residential, business, and enterprise services.
  • Create, coordinate, and execute digital and traditional marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Manage campaign schedules, budgets, timelines, and performance reporting.
  • Track, analyze, and optimize campaign effectiveness through established marketing KPIs.
  • Assist with product launches, service promotions, and subscriber acquisition campaigns.

Content Creation & Brand Management

  • Create marketing content for websites, social media platforms, digital advertising, print materials, email campaigns, and community publications.
  • Maintain consistent branding across all company communications.
  • Develop compelling customer success stories, promotional materials, and educational content.
  • Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Coordinate photography, video production, and graphic design projects as needed.

Digital Marketing

  • Manage social media channels and content calendars.
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor website analytics and recommend improvements to increase engagement and conversions.
  • Assist with online advertising initiatives, including search engine and social media advertising.
  • Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) tools to support marketing and customer retention efforts.

Market Research & Analytics

  • Conduct competitor, market, and customer research to identify opportunities and trends.
  • Analyze customer behavior, subscriber growth, churn, and campaign performance metrics.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Monitor community needs and industry developments within the telecommunications and broadband sectors.

Community Engagement & Events

  • Represent the company at community events, trade shows, county fairs, industry conferences, and sponsorship activities.
  • Coordinate promotional events, open houses, and customer appreciation activities.
  • Support community relations efforts that reinforce the company's cooperative values and local presence.
  • Develop relationships with local organizations, schools, businesses, and community leaders.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customer service, network operations, sales, and leadership teams to support company initiatives.
  • Assist with grant-related communications and public awareness campaigns when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support company objectives.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Three to five years of experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience developing and executing successful digital and traditional marketing campaigns.
  • Telecommunications, broadband, cooperative, utility, or technology-industry experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of marketing analytics and performance measurement tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and marketing software platforms.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems (CMS), website updates, and email marketing platforms.
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva or similar software preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel throughout the service area and attend occasional evening or weekend events.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
