Marketing Specialist and Graphic Designer

Description:

The Marketing Specialist and Graphic Designer collaborates with Marketing, Sales and Purchasing Departments, as well as the General Managers of the three (3) Teams (i.e. Fertilizer Production, Wholesale and Retail) to develop marketing strategies, campaigns and brand-aligned assets to increase sales.

Requirements:

1. Essential Functions of the Job:

i. Produce compelling and original design to promote and support the DTE brand through print, digital and social media

ii. In charge of design, layout and production of print and digital catalogs, packaging, advertising, brochures, mailers, email campaigns, POS, signage, in-house collateral and other mediums

iii. Maintain an inventory of sales support materials making sure all resources are accurate and current while coordinating new materials as needed

iv. Provide Marketing support for Wholesale and Retail Sales Road travel

v. Work with vendors on outsourced projects, including collective competitive bids, managing timelines and following projects through completion

vi. Assist with creating and managing mailing lists

vii. Assist with web content management

viii. Assist with product and lifestyle photography

ix. Assist with trade show design and marketing

x. Participate in meetings and provide relevant information to assist in planning and direction

xi. Manage complex, long-term projects and small projects and be flexible regarding duties, workload and direction

xii. Consistent attention to detail in every aspect of marketing (e.g. organization, deadlines, proofreading)

2. General Duties:

i. Have a generally positive and upbeat attitude

ii. Work within a team environment by sharing ideas and providing and accepting constructive feedback

iii. Ability to follow through on tasks while unsupervised

iv. Technical understanding of Mac and Windows based computers, networks, file management and organization

v. Ability to use proper grammar, syntax and spelling in Standard English

vi. Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual meetings as required

vii. Participate in ongoing trainings for safety, team building and human resources as required

viii. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area for a safe, clean and positive work environment

ix. Recognize and respect the confidential nature of DTE business and DTE customer relationships and protect all proprietary information

x. Willingness to contribute to the company in areas other than specific job description as required from time to time

xi. Experience in home and garden related endeavors such as cooking, preserving or gardening helpful

xii. Content creation skills and experience highly desired

xiii. Other tasks as assigned

3. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years working experience in a similar complex role sensibly integrating Marketing and design activities for various Teams (e.g. Production, Sales, Procurement) in a time and deadline sensitive environment. Content creation experience across social media is highly desired. Web design experience preferred.

4. Communication: Communication is critical for the success of any team within the organization. A high degree of effective communication with the Marketing and Sales Teams, as well as Management is required.

5. Equipment Used: Desktop computer, Adobe Creative Suite, Sage 100 ERP software, Microsoft Office programs, multi-line telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.

6. Required Skills, Licenses or Certificates: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional design for print, digital and social media. Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications; Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress and Acrobat.

7. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication, Journalism, Marketing or related field or experience is strongly preferred.
