Marketing Specialist Intern

SUMMARY:

This position is ideal for students or recent graduates who want to explore the intersection of healthcare and marketing, particularly in the rapidly evolving field of medical imaging and radiology technology. On-site in Warwick, RI.

Under the general direction of the Director of Business Operations and according to established policies and procedures, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for designing, creating, and delivering marketing programs to support the growth and expansion of RIMI’s products and services. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist will partner with RIMI’s referral base and promote its growing corporate brand of organizational services.


SCHEDULE:

  • Full- or part-time; 20-40 hours/week

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Utilize an understanding of consumer behavior trends and generate creative ideas. Be well-versed in marketing concepts, principles, and tactics. Deliver effective marketing programs that will help RIMI’S reputation and growth.
  • Create and convey brand messages and improve brand awareness. Develop and provide information based on marketing trends, products, customer needs, etc.
  • Coordinate involvement in conferences, seminars, presentations, events, etc.
  • Brainstorm, research, and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns. Collaborate with internal and external partners to execute promotional events and campaigns. Be able to research, plan, implement and evaluate all marketing and communications activities.
  • Create content to reach target audiences using appropriate channels including social media, company website, email, media, video, face-to-face interactions, etc.
  • Execute individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of marketing and healthcare promotion principles and theories.
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM), and applications such as web analytics, Google Ads, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Website and/or graphic design experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or another related field. Relevant experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and the public.

REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS:

  • Must be a Rhode Island Resident attending any school or a non-Rhode Island resident who is attending a secondary or post-secondary school or training program located in Rhode Island at the time of participation in the program, or who graduated from a school or training program located in Rhode Island within the past six (6) months; and,
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
