SUMMARY: The Marketplace Optimization Specialist is responsible for driving online sales growth across ecommerce and marketplace channels by optimizing product listings, improving visibility, and supporting paid advertising efforts. This role will become an in-house expert on marketplace merchandising, ensuring product content, imagery, and structure are optimized to convert across platforms such as Amazon and Google Shopping. The Specialist will also collaborate closely with internal teams and external agencies to execute and refine advertising programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive online sales performance across all ecommerce and marketplace channels.
- Optimize Amazon product exposure, listings, and performance, including titles, descriptions, images, and backend attributes.
- Optimize Google Shopping listings and product feeds to improve visibility, accuracy, and conversion.
- Own and continuously improve product content to ensure it is compelling, accurate, and optimized for search and conversion.
- Collaborate with the ecommerce team to carry over effective marketplace imagery, selling points and optimized content to owned websites when appropriate.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to adopt and leverage new ecommerce tools and platforms.
- Collaborate with external agencies on paid advertising programs for marketplaces and shopping platforms, providing input, analysis, and optimization support.
- Monitor performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend data-driven optimizations.
- Stay current on marketplace best practices, algorithm updates, and ecommerce trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting ecommerce, marketplace, or online sales channels.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon listings and/or Google Shopping feeds preferred.
- Broad general knowledge of CMS, PIM/DAM, CRM, and other digital asset and customer contact management software platforms needed.
- Intermediate to advanced SEO knowledge and experience, particularly in a B2B setting.
- Strong understanding of product content optimization, including titles, descriptions, imagery, and attributes.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and make optimization recommendations.
- Comfortable collaborating with agencies and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience analyzing, developing, and executing ecommerce and/or marketplace strategies for a B2B company or for B2B clients in a marketing agency environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Windows-based systems.
- Familiarity with keyword research tools for ecommerce and marketplace auditing tools is a plus.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
