ABOUT HEADSPA'CE CHATTANOOGA

HeadSpa'ce Chattanooga is a first-of-its-kind clinical scalp wellness studio at 3800 St. Elmo Ave, founded by Brittni Krumrie — a medical aesthetician with 21+ years of experience in beauty and aesthetics. Built on the intersection of histology and trichology, HeadSpa'ce delivers treatment-plan-based care for clients dealing with scalp conditions, hair thinning, product buildup, and hair loss — in an environment that is intentional, calm, and apothecary-inspired.

Massage therapy at HeadSpa'ce is not a standalone spa offering. It is woven into a clinical wellness philosophy where a calm nervous system enhances every treatment outcome. Our clients come in carrying real stress — managing hormonal changes, hair loss anxiety, and conditions that no one has addressed adequately. The right massage therapist understands that the work they do in the room is part of something larger: a client who leaves restored and returns consistently.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a licensed massage therapist who brings technical range, genuine client attentiveness, and a clinical mindset to every session. This is a part-time position delivering full-menu modalities — Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, sports, lymphatic, aromatherapy, and reflexology — within a studio environment where documentation, communication, and protocol adherence are as important as technique.

HeadSpa'ce clients are health-conscious and observant. They notice when someone has actually read their intake form, when the room is prepared with care, and when the post-session recommendations are specific to them — not generic. If you are a therapist who takes the consultation as seriously as the table work, this is the right environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Before the Appointment

  • Ensure client intake form is completed prior to arrival
  • Review the form thoroughly before each session — note health conditions, injuries, contraindications, and pressure preferences
  • Conduct a brief pre-service consultation — confirm session goals, areas of focus, and any changes since the last visit
  • Prepare the room fully before the client enters — table setup, linens, heat, oils, and any modality-specific equipment such as stones or specialized tools

During & After the Session

  • Check in during the service — pressure, comfort, and temperature — and adjust in real time
  • Enter SOAP notes after each session — areas worked, techniques used, and client response — same day, no exceptions
  • Provide post-session recommendations before the client leaves — stretches, hydration guidance, and recommended follow-up timing
  • Recommend retail products relevant to the session — oils, muscle relief, or home care tools tied specifically to what was addressed
  • Offer rebooking before the client leaves — framed within a wellness plan, not as a sales ask

Room & Equipment

  • Complete a full room reset and sanitization between every client
  • Manage laundry — linens washed, folded, and returned to the room
  • Restock oils, tools, and supplies as needed throughout the shift
  • Complete end-of-shift closing tasks per the HeadSpa'ce checklist
  • Flag equipment issues or supply needs to the HeadSpa'ce lead promptly

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Active Tennessee massage therapy license — required
  • Proficiency across multiple modalities — Swedish and deep tissue are baseline; additional modalities strengthen your application significantly
  • Prenatal certification is a strong plus — we actively serve women navigating hormonal changes and postpartum recovery
  • A genuine consultation habit — you read the intake, ask the right questions, and adjust the session accordingly
  • Clinical documentation discipline — SOAP notes completed accurately and same day, every session
  • Calm and professional presence — HeadSpa'ce clients are often managing stress, anxiety around hair loss, or physical discomfort; your demeanor is part of the therapeutic environment
  • Team-oriented — room reset, laundry, and studio support are shared responsibilities that you take on without being asked

WHY HEADSPA'CE

  • Work within a clinical wellness studio that treats massage therapy as integral to client outcomes — not a standalone luxury add-on
  • Be part of a growing team led by a founder with 21+ years of medical and corrective aesthetics experience
  • Work with premium product lines including Rene Furterer and HeadSpa'ce's own in-house apothecary formulations developed by a credentialed herbalist
  • Serve a diverse, health-motivated clientele who come in seeking real results and return when they find them
  • An environment intentionally designed to be calm, apothecary-inspired, and built around excellent clinical work
