The role also involves meticulous attention to detail, operating specialized equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities

Client Consultation & Design:

Discussing preferences, style, and fabric with clients to understand their needs and expectations for a garment.

Measurements:

Taking precise body measurements to ensure accurate sizing for custom or altered clothing.

Pattern Making:

Creating or adapting patterns based on client measurements and desired designs.

Fabric Selection & Cutting:

Assisting clients in choosing fabrics and cutting them to size according to patterns.

Garment Construction:

Sewing fabric pieces together using hand-stitching and machine techniques to assemble garments.

Alterations & Repairs:

Modifying existing garments to improve fit, repair damage, or update style.

Fittings:

Conducting fittings with clients to check the fit of the garment and making necessary adjustments.

Finishing:

Attaching buttons, zippers, and other embellishments, and performing final pressing and finishing touches.

Quality Control:

Checking the finished product to ensure it meets high standards of construction and client satisfaction.

Workplace Maintenance:

Keeping the workspace clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary tools and materials.
