Job Summary:
The Master Teacher is a senior-level early childhood educator responsible for leading classroom instruction, mentoring teaching staff, and ensuring high-quality childcare services. This role ensures compliance with Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) childcare licensing requirements while promoting best practices in early childhood education and maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and model best practices in classroom management and instruction
- Mentor, coach, and support daycare teachers and assistants
- Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance feedback
- Ensure staff adherence to policies, procedures, and licensing requirements
Curriculum & Instruction:
- Develop and oversee implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Ensure lesson plans align with early childhood education standards
- Monitor classroom quality and provide guidance for improvement
- Support individualized learning and behavioral plans as needed
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure full compliance with Oklahoma DHS licensing regulations
- Maintain accurate classroom records (attendance, incident reports, developmental tracking)
- Conduct routine classroom checks for safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Respond to and document incidents, injuries, or concerns promptly
Family & Community Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents/guardians
- Address parent concerns professionally and in a timely manner
- Support enrollment, orientation, and retention efforts
Operations Support:
- Assist in scheduling and classroom coverage
- Support center management in daily operations
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- CDA (Child Development Associate) required if no degree
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
- Must meet Oklahoma background check and fingerprinting requirements
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- A certificate of mastery or equal to as well qualifies

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
