Overview
Join our vibrant matcha bar team as a Matcha Barista and become a key player in delivering exceptional matcha experiences to our new daytime customers! We are a nightlife hotspot that is wanting to transition into daytime service. Our menu will consist of flavored matchas, hojichas, & cold brew. This will be a matcha and tea-focused bar. In this interactive role, you will craft delicious matcha beverages, provide outstanding customer service, and create a welcoming and hip environment that keeps guests coming back. Your enthusiasm for coffee, tea and hospitality will help foster a positive atmosphere where we brighten someone's day, everyday.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of matcha beverages, including lattes, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and care
• Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and offering product recommendations to enhance their experience
• Operate POS systems such as Toast POS and Square POS efficiently for order processing and cash handling
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café workspace, ensuring food safety standards are met at all times
• Handle food preparation tasks like ingredient measurement, tea & matcha powder handling, and basic food safety procedures
• Manage cash register transactions smoothly while performing retail math to give correct change and process sales accurately
• Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness

Experience

• Previous barista experience or background working in a café or food service environment is preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS or Square POS is highly advantageous
• Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests
• Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling, and basic math for cashiering and retail transactions
• Experience in coffee or tea preparation within the food industry is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
