We are seeking an experienced Material Buyer with strong expertise in sourcing and procurement for refinery and petrochemical projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing technical materials, supplier negotiations, and end-to-end procurement activities in alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Review Purchase Requisitions assigned and ensure all the required information (Material Specification and supporting docs) are available from proponent before issuing RFPs/RFQs.
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate suppliers for materials critical to refinery and petrochemical projects (e.g., piping, valves, catalysts, chemicals).
- Compile bidder lists from approved vendors, incorporating proponent input and required approvals (for Sole and Single Source vendors).
- Manage inquiries and bid submissions via ARIBA.
- Facilitate resolution of technical queries during bidding.
- Conduct commercial evaluations of technically approved vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely availability.
- Draft and submit award recommendations per approval authority.
- Ensure all supporting documents are compiled for award approval.
- Maintain weekly reports on pending PRs.
- Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve supply chain issues.
- Maintain vendor relationships and assess supplier performance.
- Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent in Supply Chain and minimum 10 years of experience in Material procurement for refinery and petrochemical projects.
- CIPS certification is preferred.
