Overview

A Material Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of materials and components to production lines, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining production schedules. They coordinate with suppliers, logistics, planning and internal departments to track and expedite jobs, resolving any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities

  • Order Tracking: Monitor and track incoming orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Expedite Shipments: Proactively contact suppliers and planning department to expedite shipments when necessary.
  • Resolve Issues: Address and resolve any shipping or receiving issues, such as discrepancies or damages.
  • Coordinate with Suppliers: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient communication and timely deliveries.
  • Communicate with Production: Keep production departments informed of incoming materials and any potential delays.
  • Update Inventory Records: Maintain accurate inventory records to ensure material availability.
  • Implement Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve the material expediting process and implement changes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in supply chain management or logistics
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, often up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Strength to push or pull equipment, carts, or materials.
  • Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often on concrete floors.
  • Reaching: Ability to reach above, below, and in front of oneself.
  • Bending/Stooping: Flexibility to bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Twisting: Ability to twist the body.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Precision in using tools and machinery.
  • Dexterity: Skillful use of hands and fingers.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to manipulate small objects.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

  • Experience with ERP systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
