We are looking for a Material Handler for Day Shift, 6am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday.
The Material Handler is responsible for the daily transactions of raw materials and finished goods to support the Production Team. The position is chiefly responsible for detailed process work, including posting raw material to finished goods and material movement/transactions in the company ERP system, Great Plains. This position models and advocates continuous improvement, quality and safety.
KEY DUTIES:
- Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.
- Handle high-dollar materials and product; fragile equipment or supplies.
- Counts, weighs, and/or measures incoming or outgoing materials and products to compare identifying information to the system inventory counts.
- Examines material/product for damage or shortages.
- Completes paperwork required for documentation.
- Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock, materials and re-organize storage.
- Performs vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Ability to drive 24 foot box truck or equivalent regularly.
- Fills material requirement orders and issues supplies per requests. Documents transactions appropriately; prepare requisitions and package/pallet markings.
- Utilizes computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
- Posting of manufacturing orders in company ERP, Great Plains. Investigates discrepancies to resolution.
- Possess strong knowledge of DLC work/product flow, greens, greens receiving, batching, allocation, scheduling, shipping and finished products.
- Prioritize safety; understand the requirements for creating and maintaining a safe workplace. Participate in safety meetings, draft safety policy, model and advocate diligent attention to safety.
- Timely reporting on activities/status to internal customers.
- Troubleshoot and communicate issues with team and arrive at acceptable resolutions.
- Review all shortages against demand and work closely with the Operations Team to resolve issues.
- Work closely with Inventory Manager and QC Manager to minimize inventory discrepancies.
- Required knowledge and comprehension of all DLC QA standards / SQF Policies.
- Step into production roles as business needs arise.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or college degree preferred.
- Experience in a food related manufacturing/production environment.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License, exemplary driving record.
