Material Handler

Overview: Transport necessary raw materials to keep injection molding machine hoppers full of prepared resin.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
• Able to operate forklift
• Requires ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds
• Able to operate hand-held tools, including trimming knife, de-burring tool, jigs and fixtures
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Maintain safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Prefer prior plastic injection molding or manufacturing experience

Material Handler Responsibilities:

• Correctly capture materials data, using barcode scanners and allocation module in ERP system.
• Complete allocation location reconciliation as often as possible, as each job is completed.
• Ensure all injection molding machine hoppers and barrels are full of correct, prepared resin.
• Operate forklift to transport raw resins.
• Demonstrate timely, effective communication with other team members to ensure efficient start-up and shut-down of production runs.
• Keep warehouse organized and clean of spilled resin during the shift.
• Clean up any resin spills in work areas that occur while loading material into the hoppers.
• Maintain, store, and organize all documents pertaining to material certifications and as inventory control.
• Clean hopper, press, grinder, filters, and loaders after a production run using proper equipment.
• Assist production supervisor in giving breaks to Operators as needed.
