Job Summary

The Material Handler is a cross-functional position supporting, Inventory, Shipping & Receiving and the Warehouse. The Material Handler compiles and maintains records in our ERP system. Picks, packs, and ships supplies and materials to internal and external customers in an accurate and timely manner; efficiently and safely transports, sorts, and stocks materials.

This is a full-time in-office position in Hood River, Oregon.

Essential Job Functions

Inventory, Shipping & Receiving

  • Accurately controls and tracks physical inventory.
  • Issues purchase and work orders to generate product shipments and routing of invoices.
  • Maintains and manages accurate records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, and/or supplies stocked and other factors that affect schedules.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures.
  • Picks and kits parts for Work Order processing.
  • Maintains shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
  • Audits each shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match order.
  • Inspects all incoming freight for damage; follows-up with purchasing to resolve any damaged freight issues.

Work environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in an office and manufacturing environment. This position operates out of the Production area, production areas may experience moderate to high noise levels due to machinery, equipment, and packaging processes. Hearing protection may be required in designated areas. Temperature in the warehouse may vary with seasonal conditions and may not be climate-controlled. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, carts, pallet jacks and other typical hazards of an industrial setting; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
