Material Handler Forklift Operator

Overview
Direct Polymers is looking for a highly skilled and qualified forklift operator who has multiple years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. Recycling pr plastics experience is highly preferred. All candidates must be proficient in English, bilingual Spanish speaks are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse
• Perform quality checks on all in-bound and out-bound material
• Achieve proficiency on all paperwork regarding all loads and inventory
• Manage inventory movements within the warehouse
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments, inspecting for damages, and preparing items for outbound delivery
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace in compliance with OSHA standards
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety protocols, and enhance overall materials handling procedures
• Candidates will be required to familiarize themselves and become proficient in identifying various grades of plastic.

Experience

• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment for a minimum of three (3) years.
• Strong organizational skills
• Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting minor issues quickly
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately loading trucks, inventory counts and measurements
• Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes within a fast-paced warehouse setting is required.
