Material Handler / Saw Machine Operator in Training
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday to Friday (with one Saturday per month – paid as Overtime)

JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handler / Machine Saw Operator will safely operate forklifts, side loaders and other industrial equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to metal-cutting cells. This is a great opportunity for someone with material handling with entry level machine operation experience to learn and become proficient with various saw cutting machines (including plate, band and shear industrial saws).
CORE JOB DUTIES
  • Ensures orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies to other cells, and staging finished product for distribution.
  • Inspect cut material for accuracy and defects using measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, pin-gauges, etc.)
  • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Basic math and mechanical skills
  • Experience with measurement hand tools such as micrometers and calipers
  • 1 + years’ experience operating a forklift
  • 1 + years' experience working on a saw machine, or other industrial machinery
  • 1 + year of experience working in a warehouse, production, distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Read, write, and speak in English
  • Experience in the metal cutting/distribution industry is a plus
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
