Join Astute Electronics as a Material Inspector and IT Support Assitant (Entry-Level)

We’re seeking a Component Inspector with Basic IT Support to join our team in Austin, Texas. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated individual ready to start a career in the fast-growing semiconductor industry while also supporting the team with basic IT tasks.

This hybrid role combines component inspection (70–75% of the time) with basic IT support (25–30%), making it ideal for someone who enjoys computers as a hobby and is eager to apply hands-on technical skills in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of electronic components using microscopes, X-ray technology, chemicals, and precision measuring tools.

• Identify nonconformances against specifications and ensure adherence to strict quality standards.

• Maintain organized stock areas, support training, and keep the workspace clean and efficient.

• Enter and manage inspection data in computer-based systems.

• Provide first-level IT support, including:

  • Resetting passwords.

  • Replacing monitors and peripherals.

  • Setting up new workstations, including cable management.

  • Troubleshooting basic hardware/software issues.

• Collaborate with the IT team (Tyler Dennis and others) to escalate issues beyond first-level support.

• Keep records of incidents and recommend improvements to infrastructure.

Desired Profile

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; degree in computer science not required.

• Experience: Prior inspection experience preferred; stable and consistent work history valued.

• Knowledge & Skills:

  • Interest or hobby in computers, assembly, and maintenance.

  • Ability to solve simple technical issues independently.

  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.

  • Organized and detail-oriented, especially in workstation setup and cable management.

Work Location & Schedule

• On-site at our headquarters: 500 Center Ridge Dr, Austin, Texas 78753 (Tech Ridge Business Park)

• Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

• Local candidates preferred; relocation candidates must include available start date.
