Material Manager

JOB SUMMARY: The ideal candidate for this position will possess the skills and abilities to efficiently schedule material production to meet customer demands.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

All duties and requirements are essential job functions

§ Monitor all incoming material and schedule it into production

§ Work directly with customers to ensure their requirements are met

§ Communicate with production to ensure that jobs are completed as scheduled

§ Ensure shipping paperwork is properly completed

§ Supervise clerical staff and warehouse personnel

§ Assist in shipping department and material movement when needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

§ 3-5 years of material management experience in a manufacturing environment

§ Associates Degree in related field

§ Prior use of Vantage or similar inventory control software

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

§ Must have thorough understanding of materials management in a contract manufacturing environment

§ Must possess the ability to use a computer and maneuver through Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook along with extensive MRP experience, Vantage software preferred

§ Must be able to communicate effectively both written and orally to convey information within the organization and to customers

§ Must be detail oriented

§ Must be able to pass forklift certification process

PHYSICAL/SENSORY/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS

§ Team member must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, and freely use hands and arms to feel, touch, reach and grasp parts and to operate forklift

§ Frequently required to talk or hear

§ Regularly lifts and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

§ Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

TRAVEL

Minimal travel will be required to and from customers, suppliers or vendors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit or stand for several hours at a time. Due to noise levels this job requires the employee to wear hearing protection. The warehouse area is heated in cold weather conditions however, not air conditioned for hot weather. Therefore, the employee is subjected to heat conditions as it relates to outside temperatures.
