Job Overview
The Jasper, Alabama, location of HTNA is looking for a technical, detail-oriented, individual to join our team as a Material Planner.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent skills in predicting future demand, analyzing data, with the ability to be meticulous and accurate in managing inventory and processing orders. Experience with inventory control systems and software like QAD, ERP, and MRP systems is vital, as well as using Microsoft Excel for data organization, analysis, and visualization is required.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepares Kanban cards run on a daily/weekly basis
  • Implement new shipping programs from customers
  • Performs cycle counts on Raw materials
  • Manage the expedition of raw materials
  • Maintain inventory levels
  • Prepares and ship 850 service orders
  • Perform inventory transactions in QAD to record inventory movement and consumption.
  • Perform receiving transactions in QAD.
  • Prepare weekly releases to customers for raw material
  • Check completed shipments for accuracy before shipment
  • Possess good time management and communication skills.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
  • Must maintain at least “meets minimum” performance standards in all categories.
  • Must follow all safety programs and guidelines.
  • Must understand the importance of 5S and other related policies.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the materials processes.
  • Implement manufacturing methods and techniques, such as Lean, Kanban, 5S, and support the waste reduction efforts in the materials area.
  • Familiarity with the Japanese business work environment and the ability to work in a global, multi-tasked, multi-cultural environment is preferred.
  • Two to three years’ experience in automotive industry preferred.
  • Must be willing to be cross-functional and take part in job rotations.

  • Conduct regular 5S inspections of work cells to ensure that good workplace organization practices are sustained.
  • Understand Material Coordinator & Material Manager daily duties to perform during vacations or sick days
  • Must be aware of and agree to abide by the quality policy.

Environment:

This job is performed in a manufacturing facility where exposure to loud noises and hot or cold temperatures are possible.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents
  • Prior automotive industry experience in a JIT environment is preferred. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment or knowledge of the TPS is also a plus.

Base Pay: $48,000.00 - $56,700.00 per year
