Job Summary

Cleveland Mixer designs and manufactures engineered industrial equipment for a variety of industries. We are seeking a conscientious and detail-oriented Material Planner to join our manufacturing team.

The Material Planner who will be responsible for accurate, and complete planning and purchase of raw materials, components, and production supplies, for all sales orders. The Planner will also monitor the timely receipt of materials to assure that orders can be flowed to production in a manner that optimizes inventory levels and the company’s on time delivery performance. You will play a vital role in product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Review of sales order requirements
  • Review of associated bill of materials
  • Consult blueprints for technical information as required
  • Check inventory status
  • Place purchase orders with vendors
  • Negotiate with vendors on terms & conditions of delivery
  • Check and assure that order requirements are covered via procurement activity – be an important and conscientious part of the supply chain process to attain on time customer delivery
  • Check, follow-up with and expedite vendors as required
  • Forecast and plan purchases for stock and repeat sales items
  • Communicate regularly with production and sales regarding order status, problems, and recovery plans
  • Communicate with engineering regarding vendor issues and questions concerning part requirements
  • Lead inventory accuracy efforts including overseeing cycle counting

The Material Planner will also be part of the purchasing team that helps identify new and improved suppliers and assist in the negotiation of pricing.

Qualifications

  • An Associates’ degree or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business and or commensurate work experience in a manufacturing procurement / production planning.
  • A minimum 2 years’ work experience managing and working with inventory and parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Excellent and provable, mechanical and spatial reasoning skills.
  • Experience with bills of materials and inventory / MRP systems.
  • Must be able to solve complex problems with time constraints.
  • Must have high energy and be goal oriented.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints for technical specifications and requirements.
  • A good mind for part numbers and strong attention to detail.
  • Someone who thinks about ways to prevent errors and has a passion for accuracy
  • A systematic and process minded person that can deal with both a fast pace and the need to assure accuracy
  • Organized and skilled in time and task management
  • Someone that can be firm and demanding while being reasonable and friendly

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
