About the Role

This role sits at the foundation of our production process. Material Prep is responsible for fabricating and preparing the parts and materials that feed directly into coil winding, core assembly, and lead structure fabrication. Accuracy and attention to detail matter on every piece, because what gets made here drives everything downstream. This is a 3rd shift position, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days with occasional overtime. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with IBEW Local 41.

What You’ll Do

  • Read and interpret winding sheets, drawings, and sketches to fabricate parts required for winding coils
  • Read and interpret core sheets, drawings, and sketches to fabricate core insulation parts
  • Read and interpret assembly sheets, drawings, and sketches to fabricate parts required for lead structures
  • Operate machinery including punches, brakes, slitters, shears, saws, routers, drills, sanders, cranes, and forklifts as needed
  • Use brazing and welding equipment efficiently
  • Use hand tools and measuring devices accurately
  • Carry out verbal and written instructions from supervisors
  • Uphold NPT’s standards for safety, quality, and productivity on every job

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and work instructions
  • Comfortable operating a range of power tools and machinery
  • Good math skills, able to read a tape measure and take accurate measurements
  • Must own your own tools
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently on 3rd shift

Physical Requirements:

  • Above average grip and pinch strength for tool use and lifting core steel
  • High level of hand coordination for tool use and assembly activities
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, including bent-forward and rotational positions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry materials up to 20 feet

Required PPE:

  • Hard sole, non-skid work shoes
  • Safety glasses
  • Hearing protection
  • Gloves

Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay: $21.71 – $24.71 per hour depending on experience
