Title: Material Procurement and Quality Assurance Specialist
General Summary: Ensures that materials and ingredients are obtained at an optimal level and price, available for production, and meet quality standards. Confirms documentation is available and in compliance with government and third-party institutions.
Company Description: Established Aquaculture Company with loyal customer base. Based in Ogden, Utah, USA. Manufactures and supplies quality feed to fish and shrimp hatcheries around the world.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Sources, purchases and manages the inventory of Raw and ingredients for feeds operation.
· Sources, purchases and manages the inventory of packaging materials for feeds products.
· Works with Production Manager to Identify, evaluate, and monitor suppliers to develop reliable sourcing and ensure the quality of required ingredients and materials.
· Participates in reviewing contracts to obtain the best pricing.
· Analyzes inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases.
· Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods.
· Maintains the ingredient and finished product database.
· Interfaces with government agencies to secure import permits.
· Works with QA/QC employee and handles administrative portion of QA/QC to include document control and data entry.
· Oversees all documentation for Feed Safety audit.
· All other duties as assigned
Requirements: 1) Experience in a professional office environment and exhibit professionalism in the workplace; 2) Experience working with vendors; 3) Strong verbal and written communication skills in English – speaking, writing, listening, understanding (with proficiency in relevant additional language a plus); 4) Superior attention to detail, well organized, and excellent follow through; 5) Self-starter, responsible, and strong work ethic; 6) Ability to work independently with limited supervision; 7) Able to understand and comply strictly with established procedures; 8) Ability to identify circumstances of non-compliance and resolve them; 9) Quick and accurate data entry capability; 10) Willingness to accept direction and correction; 11) Desire to make a substantive contribution to the success of the company.
Working Conditions: Full-Time position. Hybrid, remote/in-office as approved by manager.
Physical Demands: Requires standing, sitting and walking, use of hands to finger, reaching with hands and arms.
Education: Must be a high school graduate with some post-high school education. College degree a plus.
General Office Aptitudes: ExcellentHigh level of proficiency with computers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software with an emphasis in Word and Excel. Aptitude to fully support management direction.
