Materials Assistant

Seeking a Inventory Specialist/ Peri-Operative Assistant/ Materials Assistant for multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgical Center facility located in Manhattan

Position Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Ensure materials inventory levels are adequate to support weekly surgical case load
• Manage shipping & receiving of inventory
• Transporting of equipment to and from clinical areas
• Assisting clinical personnel with transporting and positioning of patients
• Assist with environmental rounds and maintenance of facility
• Ensures all material storage rooms are kept in an orderly and secure manner
• Working with Center materials administrative personnel to ensure all material related invoices and/or statements are correct, approved and submitted to Corporate accounting in a timely manner (weekly).
• Resolve discrepancies between any purchase orders and orders received (packing slips).
• Ensure that returns/unused products are returned to vendor in a timely manner.
• Seeks guidance, direction and assistance when needed.
• Always adheres Center Policy and procedures.
• Communicates a positive and caring attitude toward patient, peers, staff and all other contacts.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient and Center's communications/documents.

Educational and Professional Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED required.

• Understanding of Medical Surgical supplies terminology preferred
• Must be able to deal tactfully with patient’s physicians, visitors and general public
• Good communication/ good customer service
• Excellent organizational skills necessary
• Must be willing to obtain Certificate of Fitness for G71 (medical gas) and P98 (generator)

§ Ability to lift to 50 lbs. is required
