Materials Manager

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced level of knowledge of MRP and part set up requirements for optimal results.
• Experience developing best practices for inventory management in a high mix consumer products manufacturing environment.
• Experience and training in material supply and production scheduling.
• Strong preference for CPIM accreditation.
• Ability to lead, manage and train staff in materials functions.
• Experience working with vendor managed inventory.
• Good understanding of financial drivers of total cost of ownership.
• Experience with ISO Quality Systems.
• Ability to identify and mitigate risks to programs in sourcing new products or vendors.
• Self-learner with ability to self-develop.
• Experience with root cause analysis.
• A strong team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries.
• Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain best practices in the materials management function.
• Meet targets for inventory levels, vendor on time delivery and order fill.
• Represent the Materials function in all new product development and engineering change meetings.
• Responsible for coordinating program transitions include monitoring on-hand inventory, lead times and market conditions.
• Ordering and expediting product to support project build requirement dates.
• Participate in Supply Chain strategy planning.
• Hands on working manager directly involved in completing and accomplishing assignments and projects.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with general manufacturing processes and assemble operations as it relates to inventory, MRP and scheduling processes.
• APICS, ISM or related certification.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma.
• Preference for strong team development history.
• Lean manufacturing experience and continuous learning strongly preferred.

Travel:

• May be required up to 10%.
