Position Overview:

Extron, a leading global manufacturer of high technology commercial audio/video products, is seeking a Materials Manager. This position will lead a team and provide leadership in developing and implementing a strategic map to achieve a world class material organization planning and distributing products worldwide.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing and facilitating all areas of supply chain operations, including Planning, Purchasing, Production Control, Logistics, Inventory Management, MRP system integrity, Shipping, Receiving, and all associated Warehouse functions.
  • Oversee logistics strategies, negotiate and manage global transportation logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective material delivery and reliable movements of goods via air, sea, rail, and road.
  • Oversee Planning to ensure the material planning, coordination, and execution of material requirements and production schedules are executed to ensure timely delivery of material and completion of finished goods.
  • Lead the development and execution of MRP strategies to ensure material availability based on internal forecasts, sales history, customer orders and inventory levels.
  • Ensure the Systems reflect real world supply chain conditions and support accurate decision making by monitoring market trends in lead times and cost.
  • Define, coordinate and validate all material data analysis in the form of MRP, Excel, and Power B/I reports.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records as well as manage cycle count programs, inventory accuracy rates, and root cause analysis for discrepancies.
  • Work closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, and Product Development to understand and facilitate material requirements and changes.
  • Direct and optimize all Purchasing activities to ensure compliance with lead time, inventory levels, and production schedule requirements.
  • Provide Planning input to new product introductions to ensure timely ramp up and material readiness.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse facilities, including storage, space utilization, and layout optimization for multiple warehouses.
  • Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the management and coordination of all the listed areas of electronics and mechanical production, preferably in a low volume, high mix environment.
  • Expertise in MRP and ERP systems including project design, customization, and implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in manufacturing product flow and global material replenishment at the component and finished goods level.
  • In-depth hands-on experience and knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
  • Strong working knowledge of contract manufacturing and associated dynamics.
  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations, strategies, and updates with clarity to executive leadership, peers, and subordinate.

Salary Range: $160,000 to $175,000. Pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
