Job Overview
The Materials Manager is responsible for the process, which includes inventory control: ordering all medical supplies, maintaining an appropriate inventory of all medical supplies, receiving and stocking of all medical supplies to their assigned area. Provides support to the surgical team and provides patient care within the prevailing state standards of practice and according to the policies of the facility. Communicates appropriate information to other team members. May have additional responsibilities designated by the manager.

Job Knowledge

  • Responsible for the receipt and distribution of central supply, floor stock, office and stock supplies and rental equipment.

o Coordinates ordering, receiving, processing, distributing, and storing of supplies

o Ensures healthy flow throughout supply chain

o Monitor and manage repairs of equipment

o Maintains and coordinates the inventory system

o Performs other duties as requested by management

o Financial analysis as required to support department goals

o Effectively coordinates with the clinical and business managers, administrative director, physicians and ancillary departments on all issues relating to patient care and specialty requirements and coordinates procurement of specialty equipment as indicated

o Plans, coordinates and manages all functions associated with Materials Management Supply

  • Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.

Service Satisfaction

  • Works effectively with all facility department personnel to maintain maximum levels of service according to goals and objectives.
  • Adjusts inventory levels on cart, as needed.
  • Informs appropriate supervisor of any excess usage or unusual depletion.
  • Orders supplies when needed according to department procedures.
  • Identifies potential problems in a timely manner, and notifies appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Understands and observes patients’ privacy and medical record confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Previous 1-2 year in Materials Management experience and/or experience as a scrub tech, Central Supply tech.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to assist with contract management
  • General understanding of medical supply equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
