Materials Manager Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Manager Assistant to support our materials management team within the surgery center. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of supply chain processes, and experience in warehouse operations. This role involves assisting with procurement, inventory control, and logistics to ensure seamless materials flow and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Age 17 or older, high school graduate preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Reflects maturity and confidence in communication skills.
  • Dependable adherence to work schedule.
  • Medical-related work experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 20 pounds (instrumentation and supplies).
  • Negative Mantoux annually or chest X-ray every two years (will be provided at no cost to the employee).
  • Hepatitis immunization (will be provided at no cost to the employee) or documented refusal to be vaccinated.
  • Able to assist in the transfer of patients with appropriate number of personnel and/or devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing inventory levels through data collection, analysis, and reporting to optimize stock availability and reduce waste.
  • Support procurement activities by sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, and maintaining supplier relationships to secure quality materials at competitive rates.
  • Coordinate distribution, shipping & receiving, and materials handling activities to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain issues to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with demand planning and production teams to forecast material needs.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with safety standards related to materials handling procedures.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in supply chain management and materials management within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes including sourcing, contracts management, and pricing negotiations.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques including demand planning, stock rotation, and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping, receiving operations, and materials handling equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements for supply chain efficiency.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
