JOB SUMMARY

This role supports the In-House Construction team with moving, organizing, and warehousing college-wide assets. Duties include relocating furniture and equipment, picking up archived records, obsolete assets, setting up for various events as required, managing items and procedures within a 45,000 square foot warehouse, and assisting with simple construction tasks such as building walls, installing doors, cabinetry, lighting, ceilings, flooring, painting, and drywall finishing as needed under the supervision and direction of the Design and In-House Construction Manager.

Essential on-site employees are required to report to work during College closures, including inclement weather or emergency situations. This critical role ensures the safety, security, and operational continuity of College facilities, supporting the institution's ability to resume normal operations efficiently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs college-wide moving and warehousing tasks as directed, utilizing a move truck and related move equipment on a regular basis.
  • Facilitates pick-up of surplus furniture and equipment.
  • Follows proper procedures for disposal of assets when applicable.
  • Manage intake of furniture and equipment assets and keep warehouse organized.
  • Be able to make basic repairs or improvements of assets as needed.
  • Regular use of work order program to incorporate, schedule, log and follow through on daily projects and activities.
  • Monitor inventory and supply levels and procure materials and equipment as necessary or as directed for moves, including boxes, moving pads, labels, dollies, etc..
  • Responsible for proper use and upkeep of assigned college fleet vehicle during the workday.
  • An ability to independently recognize and interpret what change may be necessary to accomplish a variety of tasks
  • Required to follow all relative professional practices, codes, regulations, safety protocols, college rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Identify critical path items and associated lead time to develop and meet schedules.
  • Schedule daily work to follow project scope requirements and work independently as needed.
  • Assist with set up for larger specific events as required.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
  • Manage tax exempt donations as directed.
  • Execute recycling and scrap runs when appropriate.
  • Participate in minor construction duties as needed to assist DIHC team under the direction of the Facilities Manager of Design and In-House Construction.
  • Coordinate necessary follow-up once a project is complete to ensure the intended goals have been successfully attained.
  • Effective communication as applied to interaction with employees, coworkers, supervisors, and the public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction sufficiently.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent; four (4) years of related work experience in mail processing and/or shipping and receiving; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Valid Florida CDL Class "D" or Class "B" Driver's License depending on assignment.

Fork lift training and certification.

Airbrake endorsement depending on assignment.

LED exposure and drug testing depending on assignment,

Work performed is primarily:
