Materials Procurement Manager

Gerflor USA is seeking a Materials Procurement Manager to join our team at Sport Court! They will develop and execute commodity strategies while managing the overall transactional relationships with suppliers. They will be responsible for purchasing, forecasting inventory management, and negotiating materials, equipment and other supplies from vendors. You would play a key role in identifying cost savings opportunities with new and existing suppliers.

Your Day to Day:

• Establish highest value suppliers for goods and services to meet Company’s current needs and proactively prepare for future projects.
• Supplier relationship management.
• Obtain cost competitive, quality raw materials for inventory and monitor supplier agreements.
• Maintain supplier performance results and create improvement actions as needed.
• Lead/support strategic supplier business reviews
• Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities anticipating business needs and identifying and implementing opportunities of cost reduction and service level improvements with vendors.
• Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships, selecting preferred suppliers and ensuring the most economical cost consistent with quality standards and specifications.
• Reduce cost by negotiation of lower prices; identify alternative for suppliers and/or reducing spend by reviewing lower cost alternatives.
• Negotiates company-wide purchasing contracts, continuity of supply agreements, vendor managed inventory agreements, and component costs.
• Communicates with internal customers on order status, issues, and expected resolution.
• Ensure timely issuance of purchase orders while maintaining optimal inventory returns.
• Communicate with past due suppliers to ensure that purchased material is delivered on time to support customer requirements. Manage the return of defective product, overages, and incorrect order fulfillment.
• Update reports daily with arrival and/or completion dates for purchased materials or assembled items.
• Purchase materials as required by MRP, forecast, requisitions and verbal notifications.
• Track purchase orders and coordinate with AP for timely product delivery.
• Support and collaborate with internal customers regarding special request items.
• Responsible for resolving charges for drop ship orders.
• Serve as a professional resource to assist other purchasing personnel as needed.
• Maintain a solid working knowledge of certain commodity trends including: industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, material lead times, and technical/manufacturing processes.

What We Would Love About You:

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in purchasing utilizing commodity management processes within a manufacturing industry
• Expertise in negotiations with external suppliers
• Thorough knowledge of inventory control, process improvement, and techniques
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers; ability to follow up with and clearly communicate customer requirements
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills; strong MRP systems skills/experience
• Familiarity with Project Management Software and Project Management practices.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize activities, making quality decisions in a timely manner
• Certification a plus

Pay: $90,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
