Materials Specialist Trainee - Begin your Career!

Reporting to the Scheduling/Materials Manager, you'll dive into inventory, shipping/receiving, stockroom ops, ERP, prep, documentation, and team support. Bring your A-game to keep our operations soaring!

Key Responsibilities:

Materials Management:

  • Run stockroom: Inventory control, counts, work orders, discrepancies – ensure spot-on docs and counts.
  • Pick, kit, count, and prep components with precision.
  • Handle packaging, storage, loading/unloading, returns, and disposal.
  • Receive/store/issue items like circuit boards and equipment; may use forklifts (training provided).
  • Team up with sales, engineering, and ops for top customer satisfaction.
  • Tackle quality paperwork, ERP data entry, reports, job costing, and process improvements.

Logistics/Shipping & Receiving:

  • Coordinate logistics: Negotiate/manage carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL), track costs, verify invoices.
  • Track resources from receipt to disposal; verify shipments and arrange transport.
  • Stock supplies, package/label/document per ISO/customer/carrier standards.
  • Use ERP for data, reports, and monthly costing; file and collaborate cross-functionally.

Purchasing Backup (As Needed):

  • Source components, PCBs, and supplies; enter orders/quotes in ERP.
  • Research suppliers, manage vendor relations, OTD, returns, and feedback.
  • Prep/submit requests, communicate dock dates, and organize supplier events (setup to cleanup).
  • Assist with quality docs and streamline processes.

Must-Haves:

  • High School Diploma/GED (degree a plus).
  • Strong math for calculations/inventory.
  • Eagle-eye attention to detail; error-free typing of long part numbers.
  • Proactive time management - jump in and get it done!
  • MS Office pro (Word, Excel); fast, accurate keyboard skills.
  • Stellar communication, organization, multitasking, and adaptability - with a positive spin.
  • Professional, team-player attitude for all personalities.
  • Physical stamina: Sit/stand long, lift 45 lbs overhead safely (OSHA-compliant).
  • High energy and enthusiasm to dominate in a growth-driven spot!

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
