Materials/Courier - Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direction of the Materials Manager, performs courier route as required in a timely and safe manner. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education
-
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
-
Current Driver’s License with clean DMV record required.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Courier Route
-
Complete courier route as required in a timely and safe manner. Approximately 5 hours of non-continuous driving
-
Transport mail, supplies, lab specimens, etc. to and from outlying clinics
-
Transport deposits to banks
-
Transport mail to and from post office
-
Maintains vehicle maintenance schedule
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department

Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital

Accepts assignment as preceptor for new staff
-
Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments as observed by manager
-
Reports to work on time and is at work as scheduled, as observed by manager
FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS:

Contact with administration, physicians, managers, and patients under a wide variety of circumstances

Occasionally subjected to pressure due to irregular hours and stressful situations due to multiple demands
Physical Requirements

Standing, walking, typing, bending, reaching, and sitting

Lifts, pushes, and pulls considerable weight

Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching

Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs
