Maternity Leave Cover- Soft Home Designer

We are seeking a maternity leave coverage for a designer on our soft home team. The assignment will be full time, and run from October 2025- March 2026. During this time, you will be required to be on site in our NYC office (Flatiron District) Mondays- Wednesdays to work closely with the team.

Temp Position Responsibilities Include:

• Day to day management of the design process for the following categories: Bath Towels, Bath Rugs, Shower Curtains, Kitchen Towels, Kitchen Rugs, Kitchen Chair Pads, Tablecloths, Table Runners, Placemats.
• Expected active design development consists of seasonal bath collection, and every-day kitchen and dining textiles.
• Work will include various brands sold at Walmart. Understanding brand differentiation is key. Must have great design sensibility that marries back to the aesthetic of each brand.
• Creative ability in taking overall aesthetic direction to execute saleable designs, and ability to translate key concepts into compelling micro-trend presentations.
• Responsible for hands-on designing and collaborating with Print & Pattern team.
• Responsible for creating spec sheets to hand off to product development team.
• Organize incoming samples and communicate revisions with PD team and Supplier team accordingly.
• Strong collaboration with Product Development team consisting of weekly meetings to stay on track with deadlines
• Strong collaboration with Suppliers to communicate sample revisions and pre-development concepts.
• Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail is necessary.
• Strong understanding of both mass market competitive retailers/brands & aspirational retailers/brands.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Powerpoint. Knowledge of Miro is a plus.

Hourly rate ranges from $35-$50/ hour. Open to discussing weekly rates as well.

Candidates must be able to commit for the full duration of the assignment.
