Qualifications
-
Must possess current Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate
-
Master’s degree in Math (preferred)
-
Possess a working knowledge of effective, research-based intervention
programs, models and strategies in elementary Math
-
Display a strong knowledge of elementary Math standards
-
Possess strong, positive leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
-
Ability to work cooperatively with other staff in the school
-
Utilize data and technology to plan and facilitate intervention review teams with
teacher teams
-
ESL Endorsement or experience working with English Learners (preferred)
Job Goal
Provide expertise in the area of mathematics to our students,
teachers, paraprofessionals and families.
Performance Responsibilities
-
Provide direct services to students identified for services in the area of
mathematics instruction.
-
Provide resources and training to school staff on evidence-based mathematics
research and practices.
-
Provide instructional coaching support (ex: co-teacher, model, demonstrate,
observe, and provide feedback) to classroom teachers and paraprofessionals
on using best practices in the area of mathematics.
-
Provide support for the implementation of the core mathematics programs and
approaches selected by the district that support the State Standards in
Mathematics.

Assist teachers and paraprofessionals with instructional interventions.
-
Act as a catalyst for building a school learning community that focuses on
integrated learning, and building connections across grades.
-
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials while providing individualized
and small group instruction to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of
each student.

Establish and maintain standards of student behavior that ensure a positive
learning atmosphere in the classroom.

Evaluate and prepare reports on student academic and social progress, while
keeping appropriate records to effectively document these assessments
-
Effectively communicate with parents during parent/teacher conferences and
any other appropriate time when needed or desired.
-
Ensure professional growth by actively participating in professional
development activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional
growth activities.

Select and requisition books and instructional materials when
needed. Maintain required inventory records.
-
Supervise students within and outside of the classroom during the assigned
working day.

Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing
policies/procedures.
-
Participate in curriculum development programs as required.
-
Assist with extra-curricular activities as needed.
