Role Description

The Math Sport Summer Facilitator is a seasonal, contract role located on-site in Atlanta, GA. This individual will work closely with students to deliver math-focused activities including NBA Hoops, incorporating innovative and engaging strategies to connect mathematics with sports. Responsibilities include planning and leading sessions, fostering a collaborative learning environment, monitoring student progress, and adapting activities to meet diverse learning needs. The facilitator will ensure student safety and create a positive, supportive atmosphere that encourages participation and learning.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Mathematics instruction and ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse learners
• Experience in teaching, tutoring, or facilitating educational activities in K-12 environments
• Ability to integrate sports and physical activities into educational programs
• Excellent communication, team collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Adaptability in working with students of various age groups and learning styles
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in a similar summer program or with extracurricular student activities is a plus
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification before starting

Work Schedule: June 1st - August 21s, 2026

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Exact hours will be confirmed during training)

Compensation

• June 1 - 12, paid on June 30th: $1200
• June 15 - Aug 31 will be paid at a biweekly rate of $957.46 via AmeriCorp
• Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,565.08 payable to a lender or educational institution (to be used toward student loans) or graduate school OR $345.80 cash award upon end of summer service. Please note, both the education award and cash award are considered taxable.
• Total Cash Compensation Package: $5,063.07

Pay: $2,531.53 per month
