Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
- Teach number, measurement, geometry, data handling, and problem-solving skills
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners
- Differentiate lessons for students with different abilities and learning styles
- Assess, record, and report on students’ progress regularly
- Use assessment data to inform lesson planning and improve student outcomes
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Identify students who need additional support and provide appropriate interventions
- Encourage critical thinking, reasoning, and mathematical discussion in the classroom
- Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
- Use hands-on resources, games, and technology to support learning
- Promote positive behaviour and student engagement
- Support students’ confidence and enjoyment of mathematics
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about student progress and needs
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Collaborate with other teachers in planning and moderation
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities
- Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and curriculum guidelines
- Support whole-school initiatives and events
- Continuously reflect on teaching practice to improve effectiveness
