Duties
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations.
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction that caters to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Incorporate modern learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance student understanding and participation.
- Assess student progress through quizzes, standardized tests, projects, and oral examinations; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment conducive to learning.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups through tutoring sessions focused on math concepts like organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, and research laboratory techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, research initiatives, and educational best practices; participate in professional development opportunities.
- Support students’ academic advising needs and assist with preparation for standardized testing or college entrance exams.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, lesson plans, and instructional materials; ensure compliance with school policies and education standards.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience teaching math at the middle or high school level; private school experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of core mathematical disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, and higher education teaching methods.
- Familiarity with science topics such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology; laboratory experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency with learning technology tools and instructional design software to create interactive lessons.
- Excellent communication skills for working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Effective classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques to foster a positive learning environment.
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading educational materials, and designing assessments aligned with standards.
- Ability to mentor students through tutoring sessions or academic advising; experience working with special education needs is beneficial.
- Demonstrated research skills in scientific research or educational research projects; familiarity with library services for resource gathering is helpful.
