Middle School Math Teacher | 2026-27 School Year
Madison Country Day School, a PreK-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is seeking an MYP Math educator for a position beginning in August of 2026. The successful applicant will feel comfortable teaching 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade middle school students and be able to effectively differentiate instruction for students who need additional support to those ready for advanced mathematical challenges.
POSITION
Applicants should possess not only a love of teaching math but should also express enthusiasm for engaging with students in the unique developmental stage that is middle school. Applicants should be knowledgeable about social-emotional learning (SEL) and creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment where students can thrive. The ideal candidate is an inquisitive and creative educator who inspires others through optimism, flexibility, and teamwork.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL
Be familiar with or willing to learn the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, particularly the framework for Math,
Have strong proficiency in advanced mathematics while being skilled at making complex concepts accessible to middle school students,
Contribute to the school’s extracurricular offerings and serve as a middle school advisor;
Have the ability to design and facilitate rigorous, empowering lesson plans that are student-centered and thought-provoking;
Have intellectual curiosity and a desire to spark a love of language learning in students;
Have excellent communication skills, a genuine appreciation of adolescents, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well within a collaborative environment;
Believe in the intrinsic relationship between social-emotional learning and culturally responsive pedagogy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have full eligibility to work in the US
Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
At least 2 years of teaching experience;
Excellent oral, organizational, and written communication skills;
Experience with the International Baccalaureate is welcome, but not required.
