Math Tutor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Math Tutor to support students of various ages and educational levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and related fields, with experience in tutoring, curriculum development, and utilizing learning technology. This role involves helping students improve their understanding of math concepts, preparing them for academic success, and fostering a positive learning environment. Candidates with experience in higher education teaching, special education, or working with children and adults are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in math topics including algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, differential equations, statistics, and discrete math.
• Develop customized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
• Utilize various learning technologies and digital resources to enhance instruction and engagement.
• Assist students in understanding complex concepts across related fields such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, physiology, anatomy, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, data structures, machine learning, and more.
• Support students with classroom management techniques to foster a productive learning environment.
• Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure comprehension and confidence.
• Collaborate with parents or educators when necessary to align tutoring efforts with educational goals.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the highest standards of academic integrity.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with students of various ages in educational settings or tutoring roles.
• Strong knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, differential equations, statistics, discrete math, and related STEM fields such as organic chemistry and microbiology.
• Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for diverse learners.
• Proficiency with learning technology tools and computer skills to facilitate engaging lessons.
• Experience working with children as well as adult learners; classroom management skills are a plus.
• Background in higher education teaching or special education is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.

Job Type: Part-time
