Math Tutor

Overview

Join our team as a Math Tutor, where you will ignite a passion for learning and empower students to excel in mathematics. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse learners across various age groups, from middle childhood to high school level. As a Math Tutor, you will deliver engaging instruction, develop tailored instruction, and utilize innovative learning technologies to foster understanding and confidence in math concepts. Your expertise will help students build essential skills in algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, calculus and with middle school math concepts. All sessions are one on one and based on the needs of each individual learner.

Duties

• Provide personalized tutoring sessions in mathematics, including algebra 1 & 2 , geometry, calculus, and other related subjects.
• Develop customized lessons that align with students’ individual learning goals and curriculum requirements.
• Utilize advanced learning technology tools to enhance virtual and in-person instruction.
• Assess students’ understanding and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Support test preparation tutoring for standardized exams and academic assessments.
• Collaborate with parents and educators to monitor progress and provide feedback on student development.
• Incorporate principles of special education and early childhood education to meet diverse learner needs.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress using computer skills and data management tools.

Skills

• Strong expertise in math subjects including algebra 1 & 2, geometry, differential equations, discrete math, data structures, and teaching experience.
• Proficiency with learning technology platforms for online instruction and virtual tutoring environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of all ages—including children in middle and high school education settings—and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Strong communication skills for clear lesson planning and delivering engaging instruction both online and in person.
• Familiarity with test preparation strategies for standardized exams across multiple disciplines.
