Duties

• Deliver engaging and interactive tutoring sessions focused on 8th-grade math curriculum, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and introductory calculus concepts
• Develop customized lesson plans that align with individual student learning styles and academic goals
• Utilize learning technology tools to enhance understanding and retention of mathematical concepts
• Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting instruction accordingly
• Manage classroom dynamics effectively to create a positive, focused learning environment
• Support students with homework help, test preparation, and understanding complex problem-solving techniques
• Collaborate with parents and educators to track student development and address specific learning challenges

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching middle school or early high school math, with a strong grasp of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics
• Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for 8th-grade learners
• Familiarity with learning technology platforms and computer skills necessary for virtual or hybrid tutoring sessions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with children and young adolescents
• Background in education or related fields such as early childhood education or special education is advantageous
• Ability to manage classroom or virtual environments confidently while maintaining student engagement
• Strong organizational skills for tracking progress and preparing instructional materials
