Math/ELA Tutors!

Ahsan's Learning Center is looking for certified special education tutors for grades K-12.

This is a part time position that will exist throughout the year on a per needed basis. We currently are looking for tutors that can tutor between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays & Sundays, and possibly on Wednesday & Friday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. You'll be notified a few days prior to what hours you'll be tutoring students. Your shift may begin at 10 a.m. and end at 12 p.m., or it may begin at 10 a.m. and finish at 4 p.m. - it all depends on your availability and our need for your services.

We currently need tutors that are comfortable teaching math and ELA from the kindergarten level all the way up to Algebra 2/ELA regents levels! So if you're a college student that has some experience tutoring and you feel like you've got a knack for explaining things to children, please apply! This job is for younger adults as is reflected in the pay amount. Our business does not concern itself with profits as much as providing an excellent experience at an affordable rate to lower income families in the Bronx community.

Job Prerequisites:

MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO THE TUTORING CENTER! It is in Parkchester, Bronx (minutes away from Parkchester/Castle Hill stop on the 6 train).
Have at least a high school diploma
Create a positive environment where children can grow
Multi-task and keep track of kids' work
Adapt to children's needs as they learn
Differentiate instruction as needed
Keep detailed logs and track student's progress (log will be provided to you, just fill it in!)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
