Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Maths/Science Tutor(s) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective maths/science tuition to students at various levels, ensuring they grasp key concepts and excel in their studies. This role requires a deep understanding of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and group tutoring sessions in maths/science, following the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence
• Develop bespoke lesson plans that address the unique learning needs and goals of each student
• Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to make learning engaging and accessible
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents
• Prepare students for assessments and examinations, including National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher levels
• Stay up-to-date with the latest educational practices and curriculum changes
• Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.

Requirements:

• A degree in Maths, Engineering, or a related field
• Up to date PVG certificate
• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching maths, specifically within the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence
• Strong knowledge of science and mathematical concepts and the ability to explain them clearly and concisely
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications (not essential):

• Teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE/PGCE) or equivalent
• Experience preparing students for National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher exams
• Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and digital teaching tools.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
