- MBBS Degree: The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery ($\text{MBBS}$) degree or its equivalent from a university/medical college recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Compulsory Internship Completion: Successful completion of the mandatory one-year rotational internship (often called the House Surgeon period) after the final MBBS examination.
- Valid Medical Registration: A mandatory valid registration certificate (medical license) from the State Medical Council (SMC) or the National Medical Commission (NMC) is required for full authorization to practice medicine.
- Clinical Experience (Preferred): While fresh graduates are eligible for junior RMO roles, many hospitals prefer candidates with at least 1-2 years of post-internship clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- Emergency Certifications (Highly Desirable): Certification or proficiency in handling life support and medical emergencies, such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), is often a strong requirement, especially for roles covering emergency or critical care units.
