We are currently seeking a Measurement Engineer II/III/Sr for our Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide advanced hydrocarbon measurement and flow/pressure control equipment technical support to engineering, field measurement and measurement analysis.
Provide gas quality analysis support to internal groups, external customers, and contract laboratories. Manage flow computer programming and support field and measurement analysis applications. Support external customer interface requirements including design provisions, communication specifications and data exchange. Provide measurement support and design criteria requirements to various internal and external departments (i.e. Engineering, commercial, system planning, estimation, operations, compression, tech services, etc.) for sizing and selection of measurement, control, and analytical equipment.
Provide project management and technical support for upgrading existing processes and initiatives relative to measurement and control. The engineer will provide engineering support on a variety of natural gas and Liquids pipeline and meter projects in order to provide for the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation of energy. This person will be the technical lead having the responsibility for front end and detailed pipeline engineering and interpreting company specifications to scope projects and direct engineering and construction firms. This person will be responsible for checking drawing packages for adherence to project goals as well as company and industry specifications, codes, and standards. This person will select appropriate material and ensure it is fit for purpose. This person will support various project managers and numerous projects. This position will primarily support pipeline and meter station.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:- Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 35%.
- Understanding of fluid dynamics.
- Understanding of Electronics and Instrumentation.
- Understanding of pneumatic control systems.
- Mechanical, Electronic and pneumatic aptitude.
- Strong technical writing capabilities required to draft engineering, construction, and land contracts.
- Strong skill level in Microsoft Excel Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project
- Well organized with a high degree of initiative and motivation
- Ability to work positively and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn
- Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with team members, clients permitting agency personnel and contractors.
- Capable of speaking to management on behalf of the project team
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:- Advanced technical training and communication skills.
- Knowledge of BWPL compatible field measurement equipment, SCADA application and GMAS host measurement application.
- Gas measurement experience.
- Liquid measurement experience.
- Knowledge and experience with natural gas meter, computer flow, and analyzer technology.
- Knowledge and experience with local and remote data acquisition from field electronic gas measurement equipment.
- Knowledge and experience with field measurement equipment data analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience with process control valves, electronic/pneumatic valve controls and complex control applications.
- Background in fluid dynamics.
- Background in Electronics and Instrumentation.
- Background in pneumatic control systems.
- 5-10 years of experience in design and engineering leader in a pipeline engineering related field
- Understanding of the design requirements for pipelines and the applicable ASME B31.8 and 49 CFR Part 192 & 195 codes
REQUIRED EDUCATION:- BS Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineer degree
REQUIRED EDUCATION:- Completion of industry certification or recognized gas and liquid measurement course
