Overview
Millcreek Township has a full-time opening for a Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated mechanic to join our team, with a focus on maintaining and repairing police vehicles and other municipal fleet units. The ideal candidate will have experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and electrical systems, particularly with patrol vehicles and specialized equipment.

This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and their electrical components to ensure reliability, safety, and readiness for daily operations. The Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting the Police Department by keeping vehicles in service and properly equipped, while delivering high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including inspections for light- and heavy-duty trucks and automobiles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Install and maintain emergency equipment, including lighting, sirens, and related components
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
• Purchase parts and supplies necessary for repairs and maintenance
• Operate equipment safely during repair and maintenance tasks
• Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or in the field

Requirements

• Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably with light-duty and municipal fleet vehicles
• Experience working with automotive electrical systems, including diagnostics and repair
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record (Required)
• PA State Inspection License (Class 7) (Required)
