J. Thomas Tree Company is a growing tree service company specializing in aerial platform lifts and heavy equipment solutions. We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is skilled in hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and equipment repair to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues on heavy equipment and aerial lifts
• Troubleshoot wiring, control systems, sensors, relays, and battery systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Repair hydraulic cylinders, hoses, pumps, valves, and motors
• Conduct equipment testing to ensure safe operation
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair needs
• Assist with field service calls when needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy equipment, diesel, aerial lift, or industrial mechanic experience preferred
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience
• Experience diagnosing electrical systems and control circuits
• Ability to read schematics and service manuals
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license required
• CDL is a plus but not required
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently

• Scissor lifts
• Diesel equipment
• Construction or forestry equipment

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
