SUMMARY: Mechanic A is a subject matter expert in automation or industrial processes. The expectations of this role will require a detailed understanding and application of all machinery in process and packaging operations within the facility. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electronic, and PLC analog/digital input and output components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Perform preventative maintenance conducting computerized preventative maintenance check-ups or reading statistical process control (SPC) charts and data

Ability to make programming improvements on our controls process programable logic controller (PLC) human machine interfacing (HMI)

Complete work orders in a timely manner, maintaining high quality standards.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Train and develop junior level mechanics or those in apprenticeship programs

Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with the required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

Follow all required work safe practices, including but not limited to: Lockout-tag out requirements and wearing of all required Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas, confined space safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safe chemical handling and fall restraints.

Troubleshoot repair or replace trouble shoot programable logic controller (PLC’s) & micro switches, in relationship to high-speed packaging equipment.

Collaborating with production and quality teams

Familiarity with Food Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Department Agriculture (USDA)and other food safety regulations

Proficient in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation protocols

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
