Mechanic - Auto, Small Engine & Equipment 1+ Year Requirement

Mechanic (Auto, Small Engine & Equipment)

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles, small engines, and construction equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all equipment operates at peak performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in both small engine repair and complex mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair engines, hydraulic systems, and electronic components
  • Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, etc.) to ensure longevity and performance
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including resolving leaks and mechanical failures
  • Service and maintain small engines (mowers, trimmers, blowers, snow equipment, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and issues
  • Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in safe working condition
  • Assist with snow removal operations during winter months, as needed
  • Operate construction equipment such as skid steers and loaders when required

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as an automotive and/or small engine mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methods
  • Ability to safely operate tools, machinery, and heavy equipment
  • Understanding of safety procedures and handling of fluids, chemicals, and equipment
  • Experience operating construction equipment is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus
  • ASE certification (or similar) is a strong advantage

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
