Job Title: Mechanic (Fitter)

Job Summary
We are hiring a Mechanic (Fitter) to carry out mechanical maintenance and repair activities on various types of machinery and equipment in an industrial plant environment. The role includes inspection, dismantling, repair, replacement of parts, reassembly, tuning, and testing of mechanical equipment to support daily maintenance operations while following safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive work instructions from the supervisor and carry out assigned maintenance and repair tasks
• Collect the required materials, spare parts, and tools before proceeding to the job site
• Perform routine servicing of equipment including oil changing, lubrication, cleaning, disassembly, and reassembly
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment according to operating procedures
• Inspect parts and attachments, repair or replace defective components, reassemble equipment, and perform test runs
• Perform major mechanical repairs and overhauls on different types of equipment in line with planned maintenance schedules
• Reinstall repaired units and test equipment to ensure proper operation
• Check equipment for overheating, leaks, and safe functioning of protective devices, and report abnormalities immediately
• Coordinate with the supervisor during operational problems and emergency situations to minimize downtime
• Conduct daily equipment checks before and after work and ensure machinery is in good operating condition
• Regularly inspect and clean machinery and report defects or unusual observations to the supervisor
• Stop machinery immediately if abnormalities are detected and report them without delay
• Prepare end-of-shift reports and proper handover notes, including delays and unfinished jobs
• Read and interpret simple machine diagrams, manuals, and drawings as required
• Optimize machinery utilization and support efficient equipment operation
• Follow departmental procedures, standard operating procedures, housekeeping, and safety requirements at all times
• Perform any additional mechanical maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role working with the same machinery and equipment within the industry
• Minimum primary school certification
• Trade certificate or license related to the function is preferred
• Basic English language ability
• Ability to read and interpret simple machine diagrams, manuals, and drawings
• Good teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Results-oriented approach and commitment to safe work practices

Preferred Skills

• Experience in industrial plant, cement, manufacturing, or heavy maintenance environments
• Good hands-on experience in mechanical equipment servicing, overhaul, and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently while maintaining safety and quality standards
