Mechanic for Garment Factory (Knits)

Machine Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on all sewing and bonding machinery used in a knits production unit.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and carry out necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper calibration, oiling, threading, and adjustment of machines to achieve quality output and efficiency.
• Maintain and troubleshoot specialized machines including (but not limited to):

✓ Overlock (3/4/5 Thread)
✓ Flatlock / Flatseam Machine
✓ Lockstitch / Single Needle
✓ Interlock Machines
✓ Buttonhole and Button stitching machines
✓ Feed-off-arm machines
✓ Bar tack machines
✓ Zig-zag and elastic attachment machines
✓ Auto/semi-auto seam sealing machines (if applicable)
✓ Fusing, cutting & finishing equipment

Installation & Setup

• Install new machines, attachments, and folders as per production requirements.
• Modify or customize machines based on style and operational needs.

Production Support

• Ensure machines run at optimal speed, accuracy, and productivity.
• Work with production and quality teams to ensure consistent stitch quality and minimize operational errors.
• Train operators on machine handling, threading, proper attachments, and minor adjustments.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of machine service history, downtime, spare usage, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain spare parts inventory including needles, loopers, knife sets, belts, and electrical components.

Skills & Requirements: Technical Skills:

• Minimum 3–5 years experience working in a knitwear garment factory.
• Strong understanding of sewing machine mechanics, pneumatics, and basic electronics.
• Ability to read technical manuals and machine drawings.
• Experience in machine attachments, folders, gauges, and automation components preferred.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving ability and urgency mindset.
• Willingness to support multiple production lines and work under deadlines.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Compensation:

• Best in industry – based on skill and experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
